Incredible handmade vintage silk sari dress..
The label says Hand Fashioned by Mary Bond..
Its hard to say when it was made but it seems 1950’s to me..
The fabric is a true treasure..
The silk is fine and lightweight..and the color!
It's a pale turquoise, a sea foam, almost a mint green, but with more blue..it's hard to describe!!
Maybe a Tiffany blue?..the name of this color will come to me!
But the color is stunning..in this light it's like the patina from old copper…
Beautiful silver metal embroidery throughout and trimming the edges...even the straps..
The fitted bodice has a straight bustline..
The waist is gathered with a full skirt...
zips up the back with a metal talon zipper..
bodice is lined with silk taffeta..
shown with a petticoat underneath to show fullness and not included with the dress
good condition..The silk of the skirt has some issues in places..there's some pulling and runs...and some areas with pebbling and rippling...not sure if there is a fix for this..but it mostly gets lost in the sheen and fullness of the fabric..theres a small repair at the bottom of the zipper
Measures like a vintage size 9
Top of shoulder to waist 17”
