This dress is so incredible!
I thought it was a Gunne Sax at first glance..
It has all the features..All the whimsy and romance..
But the label tells the true origins of this beauty..
1970’s vintage Lori Ann from Canada..
The fabric is extraordinary..
100% cotton calico..
A soft ecru or beige background with intricate garden botanical prints in indigo blues, lavenders, greens, browns, and fascia pink…
It reminds me of pressed flowers or illustrations in an old book..
Ferns, tiger lillys, rose, tulips, carnations..I’m not even sure what some of these flowers are, it’s very intricate!
Contrasting ivory lace overlay at the gathered elastic maiden bust..
Puff shoulders and sheer ivory lace sleeves with zip up gauntlet cuffs..
Queen Anne high back collar and tailored bodice..
Lace accents and waist ties for a perfect silhouette...
Full sweep maxi skirt with pretty trimmed bottom ruffle...
Bust is lined with ecru acetate..the rest of the dress is unlined..
Zips up the back..
Really an incredible dress..easily as good as the best Gunne Sax dresses out there..Jessica had some competition!
Gorgeous!!
Excellent condition..slight amount of yellowing at the underarm but because of the ecru color it’s not very noticeable. I’m going to give the dress a soak as it’s probably been quite a while!
